Job Summary and Qualifications
We are looking for a dedicated professional to serve as a Neurology Technician (PRN) at Wesley Medical Center.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates the ability to independently utilize Electroencephalograph equipment and impedance meter equipment.
- Independently utilizes EEG technology including A-D conversion, impedance, common mode rejection, filters and sensitivity settings and montages.
- Demonstrates ability to monitor normal and abnormal EEG patterns, neuroanatomy and physiology associated with EEG.
- Measures and applies electrodes using the internal 10-20 system of placement with adults and pediatrics.
- Documents all patient related activities thoroughly, clearly, timely and consistently with medical center policies and procedures.
- Assists the organization in incorporating guiding principles into its education practices and in creating an environment responsive to change.
- Independently performs routine EEG/VEEG studies.
- Consistently meets established productivity requirements.
Qualifications
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course through American Heart Association or American Red Cross - Healthcare Provider CPR.
- ABRET EEG Registered.
- Minimum 2-3 months of training as an EEG Tech.
- Associated degree from an accredited Electroneurodiagnostic technology program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation.
- 1 or more years of experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Teamwork skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of principles of growth and development over an individual's life span.
