Job summary

Job Summary and Qualifications

We are looking for a dedicated professional to serve as a Neurology Technician (PRN) at Wesley Medical Center.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates the ability to independently utilize Electroencephalograph equipment and impedance meter equipment.
• Independently utilizes EEG technology including A-D conversion, impedance, common mode rejection, filters and sensitivity settings and montages.
• Demonstrates ability to monitor normal and abnormal EEG patterns, neuroanatomy and physiology associated with EEG.
• Measures and applies electrodes using the internal 10-20 system of placement with adults and pediatrics.
• Documents all patient related activities thoroughly, clearly, timely and consistently with medical center policies and procedures.
• Assists the organization in incorporating guiding principles into its education practices and in creating an environment responsive to change.
• Independently performs routine EEG/VEEG studies.
• Consistently meets established productivity requirements.

Qualifications

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course through American Heart Association or American Red Cross - Healthcare Provider CPR.
• ABRET EEG Registered.
• Minimum 2-3 months of training as an EEG Tech.
• Associated degree from an accredited Electroneurodiagnostic technology program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation.
• 1 or more years of experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Teamwork skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of principles of growth and development over an individual's life span.
