St. David's North Austin Medical Center in Austin, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Neurological Specialty Unit PRN role.

The RN will provide high-quality, patient-centered care aligning with department standards and nursing models, collaborating with physicians and care teams to ensure positive outcomes. You will be expected to perform admissions assessments, administer medications, and educate patients and families, while documenting care and advocating for patients.

Qualifications

• RN licensure required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Associates/Bachelors/Masters RN degree or Registered Nurse Diploma preferred or required.

Responsabilités

• Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift; promptly identify and report changes.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic responses, and document care in the medical record.
• Provide compassionate care and promptly respond to patient requests while anticipating needs.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the medical condition, treatment plan, meds, side effects, and follow-up steps.
