Job summary

Houston Methodist seeks an experienced Registered Nurse II to provide professional nursing care across diverse patient populations. You will perform assessments, assist with exams and treatments, educate patients, and maintain medical records in collaboration with the care team.

You will communicate with physicians and supervise staff in leadership roles, potentially serving as charge nurse or preceptor, and contribute to unit or hospital-wide initiatives with management support.

Qualifications

• Twelve months registered nurse experience in a healthcare environment.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification (AHA) within 4 months.
• RN license for Texas with permanent license within 60 days if establishing residency.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care and conduct comprehensive nursing assessments.
• Assist with exams, treatments and maintain medical records.
• Educate patients and families about care plans and discharge instructions.
• Communicate with physicians and interprofessional team to coordinate care.
• Participate in or lead unit/shared governance initiatives and precept students or new staff.
