Job summary

UTMB Health in Galveston, TX invites an Instructor of Research in Neurology to advance laboratory studies on neurological disorders, contribute to grant development, mentor trainees, and collaborate with faculty on translational neuroscience initiatives.

You will design experiments, analyze data, supervise technicians and students, and help prepare manuscripts and presentations for scientific meetings while ensuring rigorous quality and regulatory compliance across the lab.

Qualifications

• PhD/MD in Neuroscience or related field.
• Experience in laboratory research in neurology.
• Scholarly productivity (publications, presentations, grants).
• Strong technical skills in molecular biology, cell culture, imaging, or animal models.
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, conduct, and analyze experiments related to neurological disease models.
• Develop and execute research protocols and ensure compliance with standards.
• Prepare manuscripts, present findings at meetings, and assist with grant applications.
• Supervise and train laboratory personnel, including technicians and students.
• Maintain laboratory organization, safety, and quality control procedures.
• Collaborate with faculty across the department and institution to support multidisciplinary research.
