Job Description

Post-doctoral position in the laboratory of Talene Yacoubian, MD, PhD, Professor at the Killion Center for Neurodegeneration and Experimental Therapeutics, Department of Neurology, The University of Alabama at Birmingham. Research focuses on mechanisms of neurodegeneration in Parkinson's disease and related disorders. The candidate will lead projects examining the molecular and cellular mechanisms regulating alpha-synuclein aggregation and clearance in cellular and animal models of Parkinson's disease. Opportunities to write manuscripts and grants, mentor students, and present key research findings at national and international conferences. Multiple collaborations within the laboratory.

Appointment

One year with possibility of extension contingent on satisfactory performance. Submit CV, research statement (<2 pages), and references to Dr. Yacoubian.
