The Department of Neurology at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University is recruiting academic headache specialists in clinical educator and physician-scientist tracks. The position is within the department of neurology, but non-neurologist headache specialists are encouraged to apply. Jefferson's Department of Neurology, established in 1997 by Drs. Stephen Silberstein and William Young, is one of the oldest and most prestigious in the country, with over 80 full-time faculty members. Our institution hosts one of the largest, most productive, and innovative headache centers worldwide, providing excellent clinical care with specialty centers for intracranial hypotension, intracranial hypertension, cluster, and vestibular migraine. We offer infusion therapies and operate the largest academic inpatient program in the US at Methodist Hospital in South Philadelphia. We promote research and basic science through clinical trials and investigator-initiated studies, collaborating with students, residents, fellows, and colleagues. Applicants are encouraged to develop their own clinical or research programs aligned with their interests, with opportunities for collaboration across departments such as neurosurgery, neuroradiology, and neuro-ophthalmology. Currently, patient care is provided in historic center city Philadelphia and via telemedicine, with plans to develop satellite clinics outside the city for interested faculty.
