• Seeking a fellowship-trained BC/BE Epileptologist. We have a collaborative and inclusive model of care, offering personalized, coordinated care with excellent patient experience. The center is equipped with all the specialized diagnostic and treatment tools needed to help people with seizures improve their quality of life.

Job details:

Preferred candidates will have strong competency in the surgical treatment of epilepsy and an interest in developing cutting-edge approaches for epilepsy surgery. Demonstrated experience in areas such as education, research, or quality improvement is also welcomed. Clinical duties include outpatient care for people with epilepsy, as well as a mix of routine EEGs, EMU, LTM, and intracranial EEG services.

About the Epilepsy Center:

The Epilepsy Center adopts a supportive, multidisciplinary care model. The team includes 8 epileptologists and 3 neurosurgeons. Patient behavioral health is managed in collaboration with our social worker and psychiatrist. Our care model is supported by outstanding advanced practice providers. We are a warm, welcoming group with a collaborative mindset, balancing private practice-style clinic work with academic program structures. The UConn neurology residency program is based at the hospital, and the program director is one of our epileptologists. The group also offers excellent research infrastructure and collaborates with technology companies. We regularly discuss complex cases, review EEGs, and share ideas in team meetings.

The Epilepsy Center offers:

• The most advanced care for individuals of all ages with seizures and various epilepsy types
• A Level 4 Accredited Epilepsy Center by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC)
• A full range of EEG types, 3T MRI, functional MRI, PET, Wada test, and epilepsy-focused neuropsychological evaluations
• A state-of-the-art Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) within an ABRET-accredited EEG lab staffed with registered EEG technologists
• SPECT studies with high-quality image processing
• Intracranial EEG monitoring paired with sophisticated brain reconstruction software for precise electrode localization and seizure interpretation
