Job summary

Insight Hospital and Medical Center Chicago is seeking a Neurology Nurse Practitioner to join our growing neuroscience program. The NP will collaborate with a full-time neurologist to provide high-quality neurological care across outpatient and inpatient settings.

The role primarily supports outpatient neurology clinics while assisting with inpatient neurological consultations. The ideal candidate will have neurology experience, strong clinical skills, and the ability to independently manage

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current Illinois APRN license or ability to obtain prior to employment.
• Current national Nurse Practitioner certification.
• Current Illinois RN license as required.
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum 2-3 years of NP experience preferred, with neurology/ neuroscience exposure.
• Strong knowledge of neurological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel between Chicago and surrounding suburbs.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage outpatient neurology patients.
• Conduct comprehensive neurological histories and physical examinations.
• Develop and implement treatment plans with the supervising neurologist.
• Manage established neurology patients, including follow-up visits and medication management.
• Participate in new-patient evaluations and inpatient neurology consultations.
• Review labs, imaging, EEGs, and other diagnostic studies.
• Coordinate care with primary care and other specialists.
• Maintain timely documentation in the EMR and provide patient education.
• Support continuity of care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
