Unity Health Network, part of the Optum and UnitedHealth Group family, is hiring a Medical Assistant for the Neurology department in Northeast Ohio. The role supports physicians, performs clinical tasks, and contributes to patient-centered care in a busy office setting.

Pay includes a $2,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates and a comprehensive benefits package. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:15am–5:00pm, with opportunities for professional growth within a large healthcare network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Nationally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification from NAHP, NCCT, AAMA, AMT, NHA or ability to obtain within 9 months of hire.

Responsabilités

• Demonstrates clinical competence in direct patient care and assists MDs with procedures.
• Performs duties within department standards, policies and protocols.
• Addresses each patient and family needs and communicates identified needs promptly.
• Directs patients to exam rooms in a timely manner.
• Assists physician and nurses during exams and diagnostic procedures.
• Prepares e-prescriptions for processing to pharmacies per physician instruction.
• Inspects, cleans/preps and processes instruments/equipment as per guidelines.
• Prepares specimens for transport to the laboratory with proper labeling.
