Job summary

Sanford Health is hiring for a patient care support role within a clinical setting. The position involves preparing exam rooms, taking vital signs, and assisting nursing staff in daily workflows to support patients and their families.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with six months of experience preferred and CNA or healthcare knowledge beneficial. BLS certification is required or must be obtained within 60 days of hire. This is a full-time daytime shift in Sanford, ME area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of six months' experience preferred.
• Experience in a clinic setting preferred.
• Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment/supplies preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
• Obtains and maintains required department competencies and certifications.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or within 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Record and monitor vital signs such as height, weight, blood pressure, vision screening and drug screens.
• Prepare patient treatment areas, clean equipment, and dispose of biomedical waste per policy.
• Clean and maintain patient care or treatment rooms.
• Monitor stock levels of medical inventory and restock as needed.
• Engage with patient registries and identify opportunities to improve patient care.
• Work independently and as part of a team, maintain professionalism under distractions.
