Job summary

UCLA Health in Los Angeles seeks an Academic Personnel (AP) Supervisor to coordinate all academic personnel functions for the Department of Neurology and to supervise professional staff. You will oversee recruitment, appointments, separations, dossiers, leaves, payroll, and related administration.

You will interpret policies, advise faculty and leadership, ensure UC/UCLA/DGSOM compliance, and manage credentialing, visa sponsorships, and licensing programs while supporting departmental goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3 years minimum supervisory experience.
• 4–6 years of subject matter expertise for area(s) of greatest % responsibility.
• Thorough knowledge of UC-wide Academic Personnel Policies (APM) and bargaining contracts.
• Knowledge of Compensation Plan bylaws and related procedures.
• Ability to supervise, train, evaluate, and recruit staff.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to make recommendations.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication and confidentiality in handling information.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate all academic personnel functions for the Department of Neurology.
• Directly supervise professional staff and support departmental goals.
• Coordinate credentialing, privileging, visa sponsorships, and licensing programs.
• Interpret and apply academic personnel policies for faculty and leadership.
