Qualifications

• PhD preferred in a scientific, engineering, or health-related field.
• Experience managing research budgets and subawards, forecasting, and reporting.
• Experience with IRB processes and maintaining compliance across protocols.
• Five+ years of relevant experience including federal research grants (NIH preferred).
• Experience negotiating research contracts and data use agreements.
• Familiarity with technology transfer, IP and licensing.
• Experience standing up new programs or major initiatives.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, conflict of interest, export control, and data privacy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to work credibly with faculty and executives.
• Comfort operating in an AI and data science research environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and operations for programs with significant business, regulatory and/or technical challenges requiring subject matter expertise.
• Evaluate programs or functions, policies and procedures, identify issues, and develop solutions.
• Review trends to advise and develop recommendations to achieve goals.
• Represent the program within the department and to external/internal stakeholders.
• Develop outreach and compliance strategies and manage budget processes.
• May oversee budgets; monitor, forecast and report finances.
• Assess training needs and develop associated training.
• May direct and supervise staff.
