Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy (for licenses prior to 2016).
• Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) for licenses on or after 2016.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the State of Michigan.
• Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Program and Clinical Internship is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive physical therapy evaluation and treatment for adults with neurological and complex rehab diagnoses in an outpatient setting.
• Develop individualized plans of care with patient goals, functional needs, and current evidence.
• Provide skilled interventions addressing gait, balance, coordination, strength, endurance and functional mobility.
• Apply clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice for conditions such as stroke, PD, MS, SCI, TBI, vestibular disorders.
• Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and therapists to support coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Educate patients and caregivers on diagnosis, prognosis, home programs, fall prevention and function maximization.
• Monitor progress and adjust interventions and plans of care as appropriate.
• Contribute to development/growth of specialized neurological rehab services and clinical education.
• Participate in a collaborative environment supporting mentorship and interdisciplinary learning.
