The Ohio State University is seeking a Neurologic Physical Therapist to join the Ambulatory Services / Outpatient Rehabilitation at OCNA. The clinician will provide PT services to patients with neurologic and orthopedic injuries and will develop comprehensive care plans within a multidisciplinary team.

Licensed in Ohio and holding a current PT license is required, with AVAILABILITY to work closing shifts (7a–7p M–Th, 7a–6p Fri). AHA BLS certification is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must hold current licensure with the State of Ohio Physical Therapy and meet the educational/certification requirements.
  • Academic degrees must have been granted from an accredited institution.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification preferred.
  • Schedule includes closing shifts; clinic hours 7a-7p Mon-Thu, 7a-6p Fri.

Responsibilities

  • Provide physical therapy treatment to diverse diagnoses including neurologic and orthopedic conditions.
  • Evaluate and develop a comprehensive care plan for all patients.
  • Document patients' abilities, progress and outcomes.
  • Work within a team concept of rehab professionals and participate in interdisciplinary teams.

Job description

Job Title:Neurologic Physical TherapistDepartment:Ambulatory Services | Outpatient Rehabilitation at OCNA

The Rehab Team Member is currently licensed to practice therapy in the State of Ohio. This individual will work within a team oriented multi-disciplinary rehabilitation program.

These services are offered via outpatient service sites to patients who have disorders and conditions associated primarily with neurologic and orthopedic injuries. The rehabilitation team members report to the rehabilitation clinic manager as part of the Ambulatory Rehabilitation Services structure.

The Rehab Team Member works under the general supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation Services and under direct supervision of their clinic manager. The Rehab Team Member evaluates and treats patients in accordance with the laws and rules that govern the practice of their profession in the state of Ohio. Although team members report directly to the clinic manager, they are also responsible to each other, to those they supervise (rehab assistants and athletic trainers) and to other participants included in the patient care activities.

Provides physical therapy treatment to a diverse group of diagnoses including spinal cord injury, head injury, stroke, & neurological patients. Responsible for the evaluation & development of a comprehensive care plan for all patients. Functions within a team concept of rehab professionals.

This position could be assigned to other physical therapy departments with in OSU. Documents patients abilities, progress & outcomes. Provides quality physical therapy services to an assigned group of patients and performs duties associated with patient care and participation in interdisciplinary teams.

Minimum Qualifications

All Rehab Team Members must hold current licensure with the State of Ohio Physical Therapy the Ohio Board. and meet the educational and/or certification requirements established by their professions. All academic degrees must have been granted from an accredited institution. Current American Heart Association BLS certification preferred.

Each Rehabilitation Team Member is first a part of a group effort to provide care within a continuous performance improvement environment, and secondly a distinct professional who provides specific contributions to the team approach. Team members assess patients and establish together plans of care; provide a wide variety of treatment techniques; provide education and support to families; and facilitate continuing care planning. Team members evaluate quality of services and participate in outcomes management activities.
