Job Summary:

The Neuromoimaging Research Data Analyst will provide quantitative,computational, and data management support for a multidisciplinaryneuromodulation research program within the Department ofPsychiatry at the University ofColorado Anschutz Medical Campus.The research program uses advanced neuroscience methods, includingfunctional and structural magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI/MRI),transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), neuronavigation, clinicalassessments, behavioral measures, and other multimodal approachesto investigate brain circuitry and develop and evaluateneuromodulation interventions for psychiatric and relatedconditions.

Working as part of Neuromodulation Research, the Research DataAnalyst will work under the Neuromodulation Chair, and incollaboration with faculty investigators, research professionals,clinicians, statisticians, data scientists, and trainees. Theposition will support the organization, processing, qualitycontrol, analysis, integration, visualization, and reporting ofcomplex neuroimaging research datasets. Responsibilities willinclude implementation of established computational workflows,development and maintenance of research datasets and code,statistical and neuroimaging analyses, data quality assurance,preparation of research results, and support for manuscripts,presentations, and grant applications. The position will applyestablished quantitative methods while developing increasingindependence and expertise in neuroimaging, neuromodulation, andreproducible research practices.

Key Responsibilities:

25% – Research Data Processing and QuantitativeAnalysis

• Process and analyze neuroimaging, neuromodulation, behavioral,clinical, and other research datasets using establishedquantitative and computational methods.
• Implement statistical analyses under the guidance of seniorscientific personnel and investigators.
• Apply established analysis pipelines to functional andstructural MRI data and other neuroscience datasets.
• Generate summary statistics, derived variables, quantitativemeasures, and analytic datasets for research projects.
• Assist with integration of imaging, TMS, neuronavigation,clinical, behavioral, and other multimodal research data.

20% – Neuroimaging and Neuromodulation Data Analysis

• Perform preprocessing and quality assessment of functional andstructural MRI data using established software and analysispipelines.
• Assist with analyses of brain structure, function,connectivity, and other imaging-derived measures relevant toneuromodulation research.
• Support processing and analysis of data used for MRI-informedTMS targeting and neuronavigation.
• Assist with quantitative evaluation of relationships amongstimulation targets, imaging measures, treatment parameters, andclinical or behavioral outcomes.
• Identify data quality issues and consult with senior scientificpersonnel regarding appropriate resolution or exclusionprocedures.

15% – Research Data Management and Quality Assurance

• Organize, maintain, and document research datasets according toprogram standards and approved research protocols.
• Perform routine data quality checks to identify missing,inconsistent, duplicated, out-of-range, or otherwise problematicdata.
• Assist with development and maintenance of data dictionaries,variable definitions, file structures, metadata, and other researchdocumentation.
• Reconcile information across research data sources and workwith study personnel to resolve discrepancies.
• Support preparation of analysis-ready datasets whilemaintaining appropriate participant confidentiality and datasecurity.

15% – Computational Workflows and ReproducibleResearch

• Implement, maintain, and troubleshoot established computationalworkflows for research data processing and analysis.
• Write, modify, test, and document code and scripts usingprogramming and scientific computing tools such as Python, R,MATLAB, shell scripting, or related platforms.
• Use version-control and code-management practices to supportreproducibility and collaboration.
• Assist with automation of repetitive data processing,quality-control, and reporting tasks.
• Maintain clear documentation of analytical procedures, softwareversions, processing parameters, and data transformations.

10% – Statistical Analysis and Data Visualization

• Conduct descriptive and inferential statistical analyses underthe direction of investigators and senior quantitativepersonnel.
• Create tables, figures, dashboards, and other visualizations tocommunicate research findings and data quality metrics.
• Assist with interpretation of statistical and quantitativeresults in collaboration with the Neuromodulation Research LeadScientist and study investigators.
• Support exploratory analyses and feasibility assessments fornew research questions and grant applications.

5% – Scientific Dissemination

• Prepare figures, tables, data summaries, methods documentation,and other quantitative materials for manuscripts, abstracts,presentations, grant applications, progress reports, and scientificmeetings.
• Assist investigators and senior scientific personnel withresponding to data and analysis questions arising during manuscriptand grant preparation.
• Maintain sufficient documentation to support verificationandreproducibility of reported research findings.

5% – Research Collaboration and Technical Support

• Participate in Neuromodulation Research, research program, andindividual study meetings as appropriate.
• Work collaboratively with investigators and research personnelto understand project requirements and translate research questionsinto defined data and analysis tasks.
• Provide technical assistance to research team members regardingestablished data management, processing, analysis, andvisualization procedures.
• Coordinate with research informatics, information technology,imaging, and other institutional resources as needed to resolveroutine data or computational issues.

5% – Research Compliance and Professional Development

• Conduct research data activities in accordance with approvedprotocols, data use requirements, institutional policies, andapplicable human-subjects research requirements.
• Maintain appropriate protections for confidential and sensitiveresearch information.
• Complete required institutional research, information security,human-subjects protection, MRI safety, and other applicabletraining.
• Maintain knowledge of evolving methods, software, and bestpractices relevant to neuroimaging, neuromodulation, quantitativeneuroscience, and reproducible research.
• Perform other research data and quantitative support duties asassigned.

Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located inAurora, CO . This position is expected to work at the University ofColorado Anschutz Medical Campus, with hybrid work eligibilitydetermined by the needs of the Department of Psychiatry,Neuromodulation Research Program, and Neuromodulation Research.

Minimum Qualifications:

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for thisposition has been established as $63,096 -$80,258.
