Job summary

MarinHealth Neurology is seeking exceptional neurologists to join our Neurohospitalist team in the North Bay. We are a designated Primary Stroke Center with Five-Star Treatment of Stroke recognition, focused on collaborative, patient-centered care.

The role includes inpatient neuro consultation, coordination with hospital teams, and opportunities for ambulatory stroke follow-up in Marin/Novato. Hybrid positions and leadership opportunities may be available.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree and licensed/eligible for California licensure.
• Fellowship in Neurohospitalist medicine, Stroke or Vascular Neurology preferred.
• Board certified or eligible with intent to certify within 1 year.
• Commitment to evidence-based medicine and outstanding patient care.
• Strong communication skills with sensitivity to cultural and linguistic differences.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient neurology consultation and management for acute/complex cases.
• Collaborate with hospitalists, neurosurgery, cardiology, emergency, critical care and other specialties.
• Participate in care coordination, discharge planning, and transitions of care.
• Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Educate and mentor advanced practice providers and team members.
• Hybrid option for follow-up stroke neurology in ambulatory clinics in Southern Marin/Novato.
• 24/7 tele neurology backup coverage.

The Position

• Enjoy working as part of our expanding neurology program, providing comprehensive inpatient neurological consultation and management for a wide range of acute and complex conditions.
• Collaborate closely with hospitalists and specialists across disciplines, including cardiovascular, neurosurgery, emergency medicine, critical care, and other medical specialties.
• Participate in care coordination, discharge planning, and transitions of care, including providing outpatient clinical care to support patients following discharge and throughout care transitions.
• Contribute to quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical practice initiatives.
• Participate in education and mentorship of advanced practice providers, and other members of the healthcare team, as applicable.
• Opportunity for hybrid position to include providing some general and/or sub-specialized stroke follow up neurology care in our ambulatory clinics (located in Southern Marin and Novato).
• 24/7 tele neurology backup coverage.

The Position Requirements

• M.D. or D.O.
• Fellowship training in Neurohospitalist medicine, Stroke or Vascular Neurology preferred.
• Board certified or eligible (with intent to become certified within 1 year)
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in California.
• Practice evidence based medicine and possess a strong philosophy of excellence in patient care and excellence in the overall patient experience
• The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to develop strong relationships with patients, as well as sensitivity to cultural and linguistic differences.

Compensation & Benefits

• The salary range for this position is $325,000 - $375,000. Final determination of starting pay may vary based on factors such as practice experiences and patient care schedules. Additional pay may be determined for candidates that exceed specific qualifications and requirements.
