Job summary

MarinHealth Neurology is expanding its Neurohospitalist program in the North Bay. We seek physicians to provide comprehensive inpatient consultation and management while collaborating with hospitalists and specialists.

The role includes outpatient follow-up and care transitions, with opportunities for leadership and teaching within a supportive team. The position offers a potential hybrid work arrangement, 24/7 tele-neurology coverage, and a pathway to leadership.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO with board certification or eligibility within 1 year.
  • Fellowship in Neurohospitalist, Stroke or Vascular Neurology preferred.
  • California licensure or eligibility for licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient neurological consultation and management for a wide range of acute and complex conditions.
  • Collaborate with hospitalists and multidisciplinary teams across disciplines.
  • Coordinate care, discharge planning, and follow-up in ambulatory clinics as needed.
  • Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
  • Educate and mentor advanced practice providers and other staff.
  • Provide 24/7 tele neurology backup coverage.

The Position
  • Enjoy working as part of ourexpanding neurology program, providing comprehensive inpatientneurological consultation and management for a wide range of acute andcomplex conditions.
  • Collaborate closely withhospitalists and specialists across disciplines, including cardiovascular,neurosurgery, emergency medicine, critical care, and other medicalspecialties.
  • Participate in carecoordination, discharge planning, and transitions of care, includingproviding outpatient clinical care to support patients following dischargeand throughout care transitions.
  • Contribute to qualityimprovement, patient safety, and clinical practice initiatives.
  • Participate in education andmentorship of advanced practice providers, and other members of thehealthcare team, as applicable.
  • Opportunity for hybridposition to include providing some general and/or sub-specialized strokefollow up neurology care in our ambulatory clinics (located in SouthernMarin and Novato).

The Position Requirements
  • M.D. or D.O.
  • Fellowship training inNeurohospitalist medicine, Stroke or Vascular Neurology preferred.
  • Board certified or eligible(with intent to become certified within 1 year)
  • Licensed or eligible forlicensure in California.
  • Practiceevidence based medicine and possess a strong philosophy of excellence inpatient care and excellence in the overall patient experience
  • The ideal candidate will haveexcellent communication skills and be able to develop strong relationshipswith patients, as well as sensitivity to cultural and linguisticdifferences.
Compensation & Benefits
  • The salary range for this position is $325,000 - $375,000. Final determination of starting pay may vary based on factors such as practice experiences and patient care schedules. Additional pay may be determined for candidates that exceed specific qualifications and requirements.
  • Comprehensive benefits package (for employed position) including medical, dental, and vision insurance, Long Term Disability (LTD) and basic life insurance, with a voluntary life insurance option, EAP and a retirement plan with employer match.
