Job summary

New York Genome Center in New York City seeks a motivated postdoctoral research associate to develop and apply methods in statistical human genetics, focusing on brain disorders. You will work with large-scale genomic and phenotypic data to understand genetic risk factors for psychiatric conditions and help publish impactful findings.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Biological Sciences, Genetics, Statistics, Biostatistics, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Epidemiology or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Python, R, and Unix/Linux for data analysis and scripting.
• Experience with high-throughput genetic data analysis and sequencing formats (FASTQ/BAM/CRAM/VCF).

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply statistical, computational, and machine learning methods for large-scale genetic data.
• Lead research projects from start to finish and publish results.
• Collaborate with colleagues at NYGC and Columbia to interpret analyses and translate findings into manuscripts.
