A Brief Overview

Specializes in using electroencephalography (EEG) to record and analyze brain electrical activity, aiding in the diagnosis and monitoring of neurological conditions. Performs EEG studies in an acute care environment ranging from NICU to critical care adult patients.

What you will do

  • Obtains and records EEGs in various environments in an accurate and efficient manner.
  • Applies appropriate stimulators and/or sensors to the patient using standard safety precautions.
  • Extracts relevant information from the patient's chart.
  • Calibrates, maintains and troubleshoots appropriate medical and general support equipment.
  • Initiates proper interventions based on interpretation of changes in patient condition.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • Registration for Electroencephalographic Technologists (R. EEG. T.) - American Board of Registration of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ABRET) within 2 Years

Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • Technical Certificate Graduation from an accredited school of EEG/Neurodiagnostics Technology
