Job description

Overview

Neurodiagnostic Technologist III position at Barnes‑Jewish Hospital, Washington University Medical Center, a top‑ranked hospital in Missouri. The role supports the Neuroscience division and the Level IV Epilepsy Center, providing state‑of‑the‑art EEG services.

Role Purpose

Overall development, implementation, and oversight of large Neurodiagnostic operational programs such as Technology & Systems Integration, Surgical and Robotics Program, and Intensive Care Monitoring, in collaboration with department management.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine, extended, and ambulatory EEG recordings at the highest levels of patient acuity.
  • Analyze live and delayed long‑term video EEG data independently at the highest levels of patient acuity.
  • Perform annotation and clipping of long‑term video EEG data independently (academic locations only).
  • Responsible for the overall development, implementation, and oversight of large operational programs such as Technology & Systems Integration, Surgical and Robotics Program, or Intensive Care Monitoring.
  • Validate and implement workflows, policies, and procedures related to new or changed technology or services.
  • Provide direct and indirect procedural supervision for Tech I, II, and student technologists.
  • Perform long‑term video EEG set‑up and monitoring, electrocorticography, cortical stimulation mapping, intra‑operative somatosensory evoked potentials, and intra‑operative EEG monitoring with or without robotics (academic locations only).
  • Perform electrode maintenance and impedance checks to ensure EEG quality.
  • Validate physician orders, enter patient history into the EEG recording system, and record long‑term video EEG setup and disconnect notes into the electronic medical record.
  • Enter procedure changes into the electronic billing system, archive EEG testing data, and troubleshoot technology as needed.
Minimum Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: 2–5 years in neurodiagnostic field.
  • Licenses & Certifications: CLTM / R.EP.T, R. EEG T.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Associate or Trade School Equivalent.
  • Experience: 5–10 years.
