Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist at the Neurological Testing Center in Chicago. This full-time day shift role performs EEG, EMG, NCS and related testing, working closely with physicians and staff.

You will prepare patients, place electrodes, monitor signals, troubleshoot, document findings, and train new technicians. Eligibility for benefits begins after the start date.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certified (BLS) through the American Heart Association.
• Registry in EEG or EMG (ABRET/ABEM) or board-eligible with registration within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Complete all required paperwork before the study, clarify orders and complete billing information.
• Independently prepare patient for test and place recording electrodes.
• Recognize technically inadequate signals and troubleshoot as needed.
• Recognize abnormalities and communicate with Coordinator or neurologist.
• Maintain equipment and stock supplies.
• Record study and enter notes and observations.
• Encourage interdepartmental teamwork and communication.
• Provide training for new Neurodiagnostic Technicians and student preceptors.
