Job description

Concentric Methods is seeking a Neurodiagnostic Technologist (Sleep Technician) to join our team in Bethesda, MD in support of the NIH.


Responsibilities:


  1. Ensure patient and employee safety, and maintain Quality Assurance standards.
  2. Triaging and advising clinical staff on additional sleep testing parameters to support research goals.
  3. Perform daytime sleep testing according to AASM Guidelines and established policies.
  4. Utilize expertise in sleep peripheral sensors and their application to specific patient populations during sleep studies.
  5. Score sleep studies following AASM Service Director guidelines; prepare reports for review and interpretation.
  6. Troubleshoot equipment, monitor diagnostic device condition, and ensure safety and quality standards.
  7. Ensure consistency and reliability in scoring and reporting, adhering to standards set by the Service Director.
  8. Maintain availability by phone during night shifts to troubleshoot technical issues or challenges during study acquisition.
  9. Score research data acquisitions.
  10. Periodically review scored records to ensure reliability.
  11. Perform polysomnographic recordings based on patient requirements, including EEG and physiological monitoring.
  12. Design and implement workflow processes for ordering, scheduling, and coordinating sleep studies.
  13. Collaborate with Sleep Service, nursing staff, protocol staff, NIH Clinical Center staff, and laboratory staff to schedule studies and ensure adequate staffing.
  14. Provide recommendations for recruiting technical staff.
  15. Assist with quarterly Quality Assurance of night staff technologists.
  16. Help write policies and procedures specific to the Sleep Service.
  17. Generate and maintain statistical reports to monitor departmental productivity and key metrics.
