Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Neurodiagnostic professional to perform high-quality studies under ACNS guidelines with minimal supervision. Flexibility to cross-cover sites and shifts is required to support patient care across the Lehigh Valley region.

The role emphasizes accurate measurements, electrode placement, and proper conditioning of equipment to enable physicians to interpret studies. Strong collaboration with physicians and staff is essential.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; basic problem-solving in science/ math/ tech principles.
  • Detail-oriented with efficient computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with physicians, co-workers and clinical staff.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality neurodiagnostic procedures according to policy and procedures.
  • Prepare patients for testing.
  • Provide direct patient care and support as directed by patient needs.
  • Adhere to all policies and participate in mandatory programs.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and perform clerical tasks.
  • Demonstrate behaviors essential to role proficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, staff, and the public.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Summary

Responsible and accountable for the performance of high-quality Neurodiagnostic procedures following the "American Clinical Neurophysiology Society (ACNS) Guidelines under minimal supervision. Must include accurate patient measurements and electrode application following the "International System of Electrode Placement" precise recordings, proper adjustment of equipment and testing procedures to reflect patient need and/or clinical physiology, enabling physician to make proper interpretation of study. Must be flexible to cross cover sites and assigned shifts.

Job Duties
  • According to policy and procedures performs high quality neurodiagnostic procedures
  • According to policy and procedure, prepare patient for testing.
  • According to policy and procedure provides direct patient care and support service as direct by patient need.
  • Adheres to all polices and procedures and participates in all mandatory programs.
  • Ensures documentation is accurate and compete and performs a variety of clerical tasks.
  • Exhibits behaviors and attitude critical to successful role proficiency.
  • Utilizes effective communication skills in all interpersonal interaction with physicians, clinical staff, fellow employees, hospital staff and the public.
  • Performs other duties/goals as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED Ability to problem solve using basic scientific, mathematical, or technical principles.
  • Detail oriented with efficient computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and interdependently with physicians, co-workers and other clinical staff.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree or
  • Enrolled in a neurodiagnostic school program. or
  • 1 year experience in health care or related field.
Physical Demands

Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
