HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

Your Role:

  • Performs all aspects of electroencephalogram (EEG) related procedures, including clinical EEGs, and video EEG monitoring.
  • Participates in rotating “on call” status for “stat” afterhours EEGs.
  • Displays an understanding of diversity.

  • Performs miscellaneous duties not expressly described herein.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO APPLY

Required Education:

  • High school diploma (or equivalent).
  • Accredited electroneurodiagnostic (END) technology course completion.
    • Note: Human Resources (HR) may accept one (1) year (full-time or equivalent) of relevant work experience (as defined below) in lieu of the END course requirement, in addition to the minimum required experience below.

Required Experience:

  • Two (2) years of relevant work experience including:
    • Clinical experience performing all types of EEGs and polysomnograms encompassing all age groups from birth to geriatric.
    • Clinical experience performing routine and long-term EEGs on patients with seizures and various mentation levels.
    • Experience performing diagnostic tests or real-time monitoring using EEGs or polysomnographic equipment, which acquires ongoing data using computer technology.
    • Hands-on experience working with filters, sensitivity, and other recording parameters.
    • Experience in safety and infection control in a medical facility setting.
    • Experience working with varied age groups.
    • Experience working with patients who have mental or physical challenges.

Preferred Experience:

  • Five (5) years of END experience.
  • One (1) or more years of experience with long-term video monitoring and advanced EEG procedures.
  • Ability to recognize abnormal waveforms and localization.
  • Ability to identify artifacts [job requires enhancing and editing data before a neurologist views and interprets results].

Required Certification/License/Registry:

  • Registered Electroencephalogram Technologist (R. EEG T.)
  • Registered Polysomnogram Technologist (R. PSG T.) AND/OR
  • Registered Evoked Potential Technologist (R. EP T.) credential(s)
