Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, IA seeks a Neurodiagnostic Technician to perform routine and portable EEGs across all ages, ensuring accurate documentation and timely communication with physicians and families. You will participate in on-call rotations for emergent Neurodiagnostic services and follow safety guidelines in all duties.

Required are EEG-related certifications (R.EEG T. or RPSGT) and BLS, with Iowa mandated trainings.

Qualifications

• Iowa Deputy Adult Abuse & Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training is required.

## Neurodiagnostic TechnicianApply: Mercy Medical Center: Posted Today: JR105220**Work Shift**Day**Scheduled Weekly Hours**0**Summary**This position supports Mercy's philosophy of patient centered care by providing Neurodiagnostic testing to inpatients to include EEG testing.**Job Description****Job Duties*** Ensures that all accurate and clinically relevant information is communicated with patients, their families and co-workers at hand offs and other times as needed. Take all measures necessary to ensure that the appropriate and involved parties have communicated necessary information in order to allow for the best possible patient outcome.* Performs routine and portable EEGs in accordance with current protocols on all age groups.* Documents patient information on appropriate medical records and forms* Reviews each exam for technical accuracy and presents the completed exam to the appropriate physician, and communicates the exam report to the patient's physician/care giver when indicated.* Participates in a call rotation for evening and weekend coverage for emergent Neurodiagnostic services.* Follows Mercy's safety guidelines, carries out job-specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents and injuries.**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities*** Broad knowledge of neuroanatomy and diseases of and injuries to central nervous system**Professional Experience*** Previous Neurodiagnostic lab experience preferred. Will consider a new program graduate.**Education*** Education sufficient to obtain required certification* Committee on Allied Health Educations and Accreditation preferred**Licensure, Certification, Registration*** R.EEG T., RPSGT, or (TBD) certification required.* Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), in accordance with the American Heart Association required.* Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse & Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training required.
