Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare in Carbondale, IL is seeking an EEG/EMG/IONM Technician to perform EEG procedures, intraoperative nerve monitoring, and related studies in the OR and lab. You will prepare patients, operate and maintain equipment, record readings, and assist the physician with nerve conduction and EMG procedures.

Requires a high school diploma with associates degree preferred and about one year of technical experience; EEG/EMG experience is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Instructs and prepares patients for EEG tests.
• Performs EEG procedures and processes studies.
• Provides necessary readings and records readings for review.
• Maintains EEG equipment and supplies.
• Performs intraoperative nerve monitoring.
• Completes documenting and charging responsibilities, report process.
• Provides operating room monitoring and technical support to other technicians in intraoperative nerve monitoring.
• Reports results to the physician for interpretation in the OR.
• Assists the physician in performing standard and complex Nerve Conduction and EMG procedures.
• Recognizes clinically significant events and follows facility policy and procedures regarding critical test results.
• Follows policies and procedures and mentors other team members.
