Job summary

UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, NC seeks a Neurodiagnostic Tech II to perform standard and complex electroneurodiagnostic tests in the Clinical Neurophysiology Lab. The role may involve work in the lab, clinic, patient bedside, or operating room.

Responsibilities include training other technologists, conducting EEG/EMG/NCV/EP tests, setting up rooms, calibrating equipment, reading tests, and guiding patients and families through preparation and follow-up care.

Qualifications

• Requires graduation from an acceptable program of Neurophysiology.
• Knowledge of neurodiagnostic testing and patient handling is required.

Summary

The Neurodiagnostic Techno II performs standard and complex electroneurodiagnostic tests in the Clinical Neurophysiology Lab. Work may be performed in a lab, clinic, patient bedside, or in the operating room.

• Reads neurodiagnostic tests.
• Takes patient histories. Instruct patients and families on test preparation, pre-test interviews, and follow-up appointments

Education Requirements

• Graduation from an acceptable program of Neurophysiology

Licensure/Certification Requirements

• Registered in one of the following specialty areas: EEG (Electroencecephalogram- R. EEG T., CLTM)
• EP (Evoked Potentials-R. EP T.)
• Intra-Operative Monitoring (CNIM)
• Nerve Conduction Velocity studies (NCV)

Professional Experience Requirements

• If completion of an acceptable program of Neurophysiology: No prior experience required.
• Requires High School Diploma if no graduation from an acceptable program of Neurophysiology and two (2) years of experience performing a variety of Neurodiagnostics procedures.
