HonorHealth is seeking a Neurodiagnostic Technologist to perform long-term video EEG studies and support seizure diagnosis and treatment. You will work under physician direction providing expert data acquisition, patient safety, and effective team communication in a 24/7 monitored setting.

The role requires the EEG program completion, BLS, and Registered EEG Technician certification, with ASET LTM100 to be completed within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities:

JOB SUMMARY

The Neurodiagnostic Technologist is a highly skilled allied health professional responsible for performing, monitoring, and documenting long-term video EEG (LTM) studies to support the diagnosis and treatment of seizure disorders. Working under the direction of a physician, the technologist applies specialized knowledge of neurophysiology, clinical neurology, and best practices to ensure high-quality data acquisition, patient safety, and effective interdisciplinary communication. This role ensures accurate data acquisition, patient safety, and timely recognition of seizure activity while collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team to optimize patient outcomes. The technologist provides both technical expertise and clinical observation in a 24/7 monitored environment. This role is critical in capturing accurate neurological data that influences diagnosis and treatment planning for patients with epilepsy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Performs continuous video‑EEG monitoring, ensuring accurate recording of brain activity and patient behaviors.
  • Applies scalp electrodes using the International 10‑20 system; verifies impedance, calibrates equipment, and ensures optimal signal quality.
  • Observes, identifies, and documents seizure activity and clinical events, providing real‑time escalations to the appropriate care team.
  • Maintains continuous surveillance of patients via remote monitoring systems and video technology to enhance patient safety.
  • Recognizes artifact vs. clinical changes and adjusts acquisition parameters to maintain integrity of EEG recordings.
  • Provides patient education regarding monitoring procedures and supports patient and family understanding.
  • Responds to emergencies and assists care teams.
  • Maintains equipment functionality and supply inventory; reports malfunctions appropriately.
  • Accurately documents patient history, neurologic status, and event logs in monitoring systems and the EMR.
  • Collaborates with epileptologists, nurses, and other team members to support clinical decision‑making.
