Job summary

UNC Health in Chapel Hill, NC seeks a Neurodiagnostic Tech to perform standard and complex electroneurodiagnostic tests in the Clinical Neurophysiology Lab and polysomnographic testing in the Sleep Disorders Lab.

This role may work in a lab, clinic, patient bedside, or operating room; requires graduation from an AMA or CAAHEP accredited program in Sleep or Neurodiagnostics and licensure/certification as specified.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an AMA or CAAHEP accredited program in Sleep or Neurodiagnostics (or equivalent combination of experience, training and experience).
• Registered in EEG, EP, Polysomnography, CNIM, NCV, or RST as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Performs standard and complex electroneurodiagnostic tests in the Clinical Neurophysiology Lab and polysomnographic testing in the Sleep Disorders Lab.

Incentives:

Select full-time positions are eligible for up to $10,000 in commitment incentives.

Salary Range:

$28.87 - $44.62 per hour (Hiring Range). Pay offers are determined by experience and internal equity.

Hours:

Per Diem and Full-time available.

Summary:

The Neurodiagnostic Tech performs standard and complex electroneurodiagnostic tests in the Clinical Neurophysiology Lab and polysomnographic testing on patients in the Sleep Disorders Lab. Work may be performed in a lab, clinic, patient bedside, or in the operating room.

Education Requirements:

• Graduation from an AMA or CAAHEP accredited program in Sleep or Neurodiagnostics program of Neurophysiology (or equivalent combination of experience, training and experience).

Licensure/Certification Requirements:

Registered in one of the following specialty areas:

• EEG (Electroencephalogram- R. EEG T., CLTM)
• EP (Evoked Potentials-R. EP T.)
• Polysomnography (RPSGT)
• Intra-Operative Monitoring (CNIM)
• Nerve Conduction Velocity studies (NCV)
• Registered Sleep Technologist (RST)

Professional Experience Requirements:

• Neurodiagnostic Tech II: If completion of an AMA or CAAHEP accredited program in Sleep or Neurodiagnostics: No prior experience required. If a High School diploma or GED: Two (2) years of experience performing a variety of Sleep or Neurodiagnostics procedures.
• Neurodiagnostic Tech III: If completion of an acceptable program of Neurophysiology: Five (5) years prior experience required. If a High School diploma or GED: Seven (7) years of experience performing a variety of Sleep or Neurodiagnostics procedures.
