Job summary

UNC Health Care System in Chapel Hill, NC, seeks a Neurodiagnostic Technologist II to perform standard and complex neurodiagnostic tests and polysomnographic testing in the Sleep Disorders Lab. The role may be in lab or bedside, with day shift and a 40-hour work week.

The position requires graduation from a Neurodiagnostics program and licensure as a Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT). Work may involve remote scoring and HSAT setup.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an acceptable program of Neurodiagnostics or acceptable pathway.
• Registered Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT) or equivalent licensure.
• Completion of an acceptable Neurodiagnostics program or pathway.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic patient testing: polysomnographic testing with possible oxygen therapy and CPAP.
• Performs room and equipment setup and placement in patient/hospital rooms; calibrates and maintains equipment.
• Reads and scores neurodiagnostic and polysomnographic tests.
• May provide instruction and guidance to other technologists in the Neurodiagnostic/Sleep Disorders Lab.
• Takes patient history and instructs patients and families on test preparation including pre- and post-test interviews.
• Diagnostic remote scoring opportunities available.
• Performs setup, patient education and download of Home Sleep Apnea Testing (HSAT).
