Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program strongly preferred.

• Six months of healthcare experience recommended (neurology/neurodiagnostics a plus).
• Must obtain Medical Assistant certification within 18 months of hire (AAMA/AMT/NHA-CCMA/NCMA/ARMA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification often required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist neurologists and nursing staff in examination and treatment of neurology patients.
• Record patient history and data for medical records related to neurological symptoms.
• Prepare patients for neurodiagnostic procedures (EEG, EMG), apply electrodes and conduct skin prep.
• Set up and maintain neurodiagnostic rooms and equipment.
• Schedule neurodiagnostic tests and manage related medical records.
