Methodist Hospital Stone Oak, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a PRN EEG Technician to perform EEGs, EMGs and related neurodiagnostic tests under the Non-Invasive Cardiology/Neurodiagnostics department. The role involves setup, patient prep, data transfer, and collaboration with readers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Preferred graduate of AMA neurodiagnostics or medical assistant program.
• Minimum of one year hospital experience in neurodiagnostic procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs EEG studies, EMGs, evoked potentials, and epilepsy-related examinations per established standards.
• Uses 10-20 system for electrode placement and ensures proper prep, recording, and cleanup.
• Sets up long-term EEG studies and ambulatory EEG with data transfer to reading station.
• Assists physicians with EMGs, prepares room and equipment, and coordinates patient transport.
• Provides patient education about procedures and assists with evoked potentials as needed.
