Job summary

The Guo laboratory in the Department of Neurology at the University of Pennsylvania is seeking a bioinformatician to join the team. The bioinformatician will lead computational analyses of human and model organism genetic and genomic datasets, including genome sequencing, RNA-seq, and epigenetic sequencing assays.

This role will identify germline and somatic mutations and correlate with transcriptomic and epigenetic changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science with 3–5 years of related experience.
• Master of Science with 3–5 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead computational analyses of human and model organism genetic and genomic datasets, including genome sequencing, RNA-seq, and epigenetic sequencing assays.
• Identify germline and somatic mutations and correlate with transcriptomic and epigenetic changes.
• Develop and maintain lab genomic datasets, data storage systems, and software.
• Train junior trainees on basic computational and bioinformatics skills.
