Responsibilities

Perform general management functions such as hiring, disciplining and evaluating employees.
Plan and facilitate meetings to address resident care issues for the unit.
Manage area of responsibility to achieve high quality of care.
Develop, implement and evaluate programs for recruitment, retention and continuing education of nursing staff.
Coordinate physician contacts to ensure timely interventions and appropriate care.
Monitor clinical operations and residents' conditions for safe care.
Obtain medications, supplies and records to provide safe care.
Orient and guide new staff and monitor skills.
