Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join the Neurology Department at Veterinary Specialty Hospital in San Diego. The role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe space for neurology consultations and treatments while supporting doctors and technicians.

Responsibilities include assisting with labs and imaging (MRI/CT/radiographs), safe patient restraint, medication administration, and set-up/breakdown of the operating room.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ clinical experience in a veterinary setting.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, plus organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support technicians and doctors as needed.
• Support other departments as needed, leadership guided.
• Safe, low-stress patient restraint for catheter placement and medication administration.
• Assist in smooth transition between consultations and procedures.
• Assist with laboratory tests, MRI, CT, and radiographs.
• Fill prescriptions, calculate and administer medications, maintain documentation and controlled substances.
