Job summary

CoxHealth in Springfield, MO, is offering a Nursing Assistant Training Program within the 800 Neuro-Ortho unit. Trainees will provide basic patient care under nursing staff supervision, learning to take vitals, assist with activities of daily living, and report patient condition changes in a fast-paced 26-bed unit that treats stroke and trauma patients.

Successful completion includes hands-on clinical rotations, a competency assessment, and potential career ladder opportunities up to higher pay.

Qualifications

• Education Preferred: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Experience Preferred: Prior patient care or health care related experience
• Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS must be obtained within 90 days; Missouri CNA License and MO CNA Appendix with required license within 120 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Take vitals, bathe, dress, move patients, change linens and other duties as assigned.
• Obtain information on patient condition as requested by the nursing staff and report changes.
• Assist with patient care under direction of nursing staff and clinical educator during training.
• Undergo competency assessment at the end of training to validate learning
