Job summary

CommonSpirit Health in Lakewood, Colorado invites a Registered Nurse to join the Neuro Trauma ICU team at St. Anthony Hospital. You will collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care, advancing patient safety and outcomes in a Magnet-designated facility.

The role emphasizes trauma and neuro trauma care with a residency-style ICU orientation, participation in interdisciplinary rounds, and ongoing professional development in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of employment.
• Associates Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma; endorsement is acceptable.
• BLS from AHA and ACLS from AHA certifications.
• NIHSS certification.
• TCAR or TNCC within one year of hire.
• One year RN ICU experience.
• Physical requirements: Medium work exertion; lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
• CCRN is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data.
• Evaluates patient’s response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcomes; develop and implement patient care plans with the interdisciplinary team.
• Demonstrate competency in therapies and diagnostic interventions (e.g., IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, specimen collections) and maintain patient charts.
• Document ongoing status, interventions, patient response and outcomes accurately; use IT systems for communication and decision support.
• Promote and advocate for health, safety, and rights of patients; provide patient/family education based on learning readiness and needs.
• Provide teaching and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching to patients and families.

Education

Associates Degree in Nursing; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement

Active RN License in state of employment

BLS from AHA

ACLS from AHA

NIHSS

TCAR or TNCC within one year of hire

One year RN ICU experience

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred)
