Job summary

Mercy Gilbert Medical Center in Gilbert, AZ is seeking a Neuro Telemetry Charge Nurse to oversee a department of frontline nurses in acute care. Qualifications

• Two years RN experience in applicable clinical specialty.
• AZ RN licensure is required.
• ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Mentor staff on competency, documentation, equipment use, and care plans.
• Evaluate care delivered by staff and provide feedback.
• Coach to improve care quality and outcomes.
• Ensure standard of care is maintained and ethical processes followed.
• Coordinate ethics processes and Ethics Consults when needed.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Neuro Telemetry Charge Nurse at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, you'll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in acute care adds tremendous value to our nursing team.

Every day you will have an opportunity to improve your understanding of a patient's needs, the needs of your nursing team, or the needs of your unit. You'll advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential, which aligns with your department's operational goals and objectives.

To be successful in this role, you need to be accountable and confident. You're an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It's also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.

• Mentors others in areas such as competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, National Patient Safety Goals, and participation in inservice education
• Evaluates care given by staff
• Coaches to improve care
• Ensures standard of care is maintained
• Exhibits a general understanding of the process for dealing with ethical dilemmas and understands and coordinates the process for obtaining an Ethics Consult

Job Requirements

Required

• Two (2) years RN experience within applicable clinical specialty
• Associate Of Nursing, Diploma, Foreign Equivalent
• Registered Nurse: AZ
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 months

Preferred

• Bachelors Of Nursing
• Charge Nurse experience
