Job summary

TriHealth Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, OH is seeking an Acute Care Technician for the Neuro Stepdown unit. The role provides basic patient care under RN supervision, assists with daily living activities, and supports the nursing team in a fast-paced neuroscience unit.

Responsibilities include documenting care, maintaining safety standards, and collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other staff to ensure high-quality patient care across shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Age 17 with work permit.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or readiness to obtain.
• Reading and math ability appropriate to the position.
• Experience as a patient care assistant is not required but helpful.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents basic patient care tasks under the direct supervision of an RN. Maintains competency of tasks. Completes assigned tasks within required timeframe.
• Maintains a safe environment; reports hazards and follows infection control policies.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families and team; documents observations and tasks.
• Performs supply, equipment, and environment-related tasks; ensures equipment and supplies are ready for use.
• Demonstrates self-improvement and adapts to unit changes with accountability.
