Overview

Missouri Baptist Medical Center, located in St. Louis County, offers comprehensive medical and surgical services including heart care, cancer treatment, women and infants services, breast health, gastrointestinal care, orthopedics, stroke management, therapy, wound, and pain management. It features a 24-hour adult emergency department and a separate pediatric emergency department in partnership with St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

The Neuro unit has 24 beds and cares for neurological conditions such as stroke, seizure, multiple sclerosis, as well as general medicine patients.

Role Purpose

Provides direct patient care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within nursing standards.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient and family-centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and families on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration.
• Participates in activities promoting patient safety, quality, and compliance. Engages in professional development.
• Develops, implements, and documents individualized care plans with clear goals, collaborating with the interprofessional team, patients, and families, ensuring effective communication across care continuum.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient preferences, values, spiritual, cultural, and specific needs.
• This is a safety-sensitive position; the ability to work alertly and safely is essential.
