Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis's Albanus Lab in Neurology seeks a Research Laboratory Manager to oversee operations and personnel, enabling state-of-the-art multi-omic library generation from human and mouse brain tissue for aging and neurodegenerative research.

The role includes designing and evaluating procedures, coordinating grants and compliance, hiring and training staff, and managing budgets and timelines for NIH-funded projects.

Responsibilities

• With principal investigator, designs, performs and evaluates research procedures.
• Supports grant applications, NIH progress reports, manuscripts, and other documents to ensure NIH and sponsor compliance.
• Develops and implements policies and procedures. Provides comprehensive direction to laboratory personnel.
• Hires, trains and evaluates the performance of laboratory personnel.
• Oversees and directs all support activities of the lab including human resources, budgets, facility maintenance, purchasing, supplies, materials, equipment, project timelines, milestones, and deliverables for NIH-funded and other externally sponsored research projects.
• Researches and recommends new methods and procedures to maintain current capabilities, quality and standards.
