Job summary

NeuLife Rehabilitation of Louisiana is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our compassionate rehabilitation team. You will implement treatment plans under supervision, assist with evaluations, and help clients regain independence in daily activities.

You will collaborate with therapists, physicians, and nurses, educate families, and maintain compliant documentation to ensure high-quality care for clients with brain and spinal cord injuries in a post-acute setting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current Louisiana COTA license in good standing.
• Experience in neuro-rehabilitation, brain injury, spinal cord injury, or post-acute rehabilitation preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
• Compassionate, client-centered approach to patient care.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized treatment plans under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
• Assist in evaluating patient needs and identifying functional limitations.
• Conduct therapeutic exercises, activities, and interventions to improve motor skills, mobility, and ADLs.
• Assist clients with activities of daily living and therapeutic programs.
• Monitor client progress and communicate observations to the supervising OT and treatment team.
• Educate clients, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques, adaptive equipment, and home exercise programs.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation.
• Collaborate with therapists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality client care.
