Job summary

Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, MO, is hiring a Graduate or experienced RN for the Neuro/Pulmonary Stroke Unit. Responsibilities include providing patient care using the nursing process, coordinating with departments, and maintaining patient confidentiality on night shifts.

The unit handles COPD, pneumonia, stroke and TIA patients with tele-neuro support as needed. Licensure, BLS, and nursing education are required, with a night shift sign-on bonus offered.

Qualifications

• Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Active RN license in MO or compact state.
• Basic Life Support certification either at hire or within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains accountability for care of assigned patients.
• Evaluates care effectiveness of other direct care givers.
• Coordinates patient care with other departments.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of information.
• Collaborates with Stroke Coordinator for Acute Stroke and TIA patients.
• Occasionally uses tele-neuro services for patient care.
• Provides stroke education to patients and families.
