Job description

The Department of Neurosurgery of a renowned academic program in Houston is seeking an additional neuro oncologist to join their Comprehensive Brain Tumor Program.


The multidisciplinary department is comprised of over 45 clinical and 20 research faculty and is currently ranked 4th in the country for NIH funding to neurosurgical departments. As one of the largest neurosurgery programs in the region, the institution draws patients both nationally and internationally.


Program Highlights:
  1. Annually, the department treats over 600 patients with primary brain malignancies, more than 650 with metastatic brain tumors, and 800 with benign brain tumors.
  2. The neurosurgeons operate on more than 500 brain tumors annually and perform 500 Gamma Knife procedures.
  3. Our radiation oncologists treat over 1000 unique patients annually with benign and malignant diseases.
  4. The Brain Tumor Center was chosen as a site for the FoundationOne Registry study, a prospective study examining practice patterns and clinical decision-making impact of the FoundationOne sequencing test.
  5. Additional specialized care provided with the Pituitary Tumor and Vision Change Clinic, the Brain Metastases Clinic, and Neurogenetic Clinic.

Opportunity Highlights:
