Job summary

Banner University Medical Center Tucson is seeking a Certified Patient Care Assistant (CNA/LNA) to join the Med Surg/Neuro team in Tucson, AZ. The role involves patient care, data collection, and clerical support on a busy unit with day shifts and rotating weekends.

You will gain opportunities to practice EKG and phlebotomy skills while promoting patient comfort and contributing to the overall care plan. CNA certification in AZ is required for new hires.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Current CNA in state of practice required for new hires (Arizona).
• Approximately 1 year of medical clerical experience preferred.
• Good organizational, human relations, and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and basic computer skills.
• ECG/EEG interpretation course or training may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine patient care to promote comfort and support the care plan.
• Record patient data, vital signs, inputs/outputs, and document in medical records.
• Prepare and assist with unit procedures and use of equipment under supervision.
• Assist with receptionist/clerical duties to support department operations.
• Maintain patient charts and ensure accessibility of charting forms and education materials.
• Assist with supply management and equipment tracking on the unit.
• Transport patients when needed and support OR turnover as required.
