Responsibilities & Requirements

Job Summary: Responsible for performing routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures under the direction of a physician including extra-cranial and intra-cranial angiography, as well as all body angiography with possible vascular interventions. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education: Associates Degree in Radiography.

Work Experience: 3 years minimum as Angiography Technologist or Radiographer; 1-year relevant experience preferred.

Licenses, Certifications and Registrations:

  • Registered Radiologic Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT R.T) REQUIRED.
  • ARRT V.I preferred but not required.
  • Ohio Radiographer License REQUIRED.
  • BLS is REQUIRED.

Skills:

  • Provides technical support and assists with IR procedures of diagnostic quality as ordered by the referring physician and/or radiologist on patients of all ages according to established protocols.
  • Provides technical support and assists with neurointerventional procedures in conjunction with the neuro-interventionalist.
  • Operates required imaging equipment using established guidelines and imaging protocols.
  • Ensures proper safety standards are met.
  • Instructs students and residents and performs preceptor duties when necessary.
  • Assists in maintaining supply inventory.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of RIS and EMR systems.

Essential Functions:

  • Obtaining clinical history and data for correlation with the procedure.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media to the patient according to policy.
  • Practice sterile technique.
  • Assist Radiologist and Neuro-Interventionalist with procedures.
  • Thoroughly educate patients about the procedure.
  • Ensure that all records and reports are documented and recorded as required.
  • Ensure that all pertinent charging has been entered into EMR.
  • Follow radiation safety policies and procedures.
