Starting Pay Rate Range: $34.06 - $42.58 (Determined by the knowledge, skills, and experience of the applicant.)

Job Summary:

Essential Functions:

  1. Acquires and archives for the procedure. Demonstrates competency in imaging and archiving procedures.
  2. Has a working knowledge of human Neuro vasculature to assist the Neurologist in completing Neuro IR examinations.
  3. Prepares the procedure tray according to the Physician’s preference, following sterile technique.
  4. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of patient positioning, principles of radiation safety, and quality control.
  5. Assists physicians in performing procedures and provides a learning environment.
  6. Demonstrates competence in using the bi-plane unit and ensures high diagnostic quality images.
  7. Documents appropriate information in patient's chart.
  8. Ensures the procedure and related supplies are billed correctly.
  9. Ensures all products are not expired prior to use.
  10. Examines requisition for appropriate orders and reprints corrected requisition.
  11. Determines quality diagnostic images and presents high-quality images to the Providers.
  12. Operates fluoroscopy during specified exams under the physician’s supervision.
  13. Competently works within required computer programs (i.e., PACs, RIS, Vrad) as well as manual downtime processes.
  14. Demonstrates critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and excellent customer service abilities.
  15. All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements:

Required:

Education: High School Diploma/GED Equivalent; Graduate of Radiology Program.

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Certification; Radiologic Technologist (RT); Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or ARRT(VI) certification.

Experience: At least 2+ years of Neuro IR experience.

Preferred:

Education: Associates in a Related Field.

Certifications: ACLS; NIHS.

Physical Requirements:

Heavy work - exerting up to 25 pounds of force constantly, and/or up to 50 pounds frequently, and/or up to 100 pounds occasionally.

Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances.
