We are seeking a uniquely skilled professional to join an early-stage, stealth-mode neurotechnology project aiming to revolutionize deep brain stimulation (DBS) implantation. This is a contract-based, remote-first role with quarterly travel to Israel, offering a chance to shape the future of neuromodulation devices from concept to clinical readiness.

Core Skillset

  1. Mechanical Expertise: Skilled in microfabrication and building miniature structures like electrodes and DBS leads.
  2. Neuroscience Foundation: Deep understanding of brain physiology and electrical signal acquisition. You know what it takes to design structures that can record reliable neural signals.
  3. Regulatory Knowledge: Familiar with implantable device standards (e.g., ISO 10993, FDA requirements, CE marking).
  4. Materials Science Savvy: Able to identify and specify biocompatible materials; know which materials pose risks and why.
  5. Technical Communication: Confident communicator with experience supporting or writing technical grant proposals for neurotech or medtech R&D.
  6. Innovator Mindset: You bring design ideas to the table immediately—not just execution.

The Mission

The aim: create a next-gen DBS implant that enables one-step surgical implantation, combining electrode placement and lead fixation in a single, seamless procedure. Think beyond today’s limitations—this team is not interested in incremental improvements but true innovation.

You’ll Collaborate With:

  • Mechanical, electrical, and quality engineers
  • Technicians and clinical application engineers
  • Animal testing team for preclinical validation

Ideal Background:

  • Biomedical, mechanical, or neural engineering
  • Experience with implantable neuromodulation or biosensing systems
  • Previous work with companies like Medtronic, Abbott, Boston Scientific is a plus
  • Project management skills or startup R&D leadership is advantageous
  • Willingness to travel to Israel quarterly
