Job summary

UNC Health Care's Rex Neuroscience ICU in Raleigh, NC, seeks a Clinical Nurse to provide skilled neuro-critical care. The role reports to Nurse Manager/Director and involves coordinating patient care using the nursing process in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include ongoing education, evaluation of care, implementing complex care, leadership activities, patient assessment, planning, and contributing to research. Requires NC RN licensure and BLS; one year nursing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold a nursing license in NC and be BLS certified.
• 1 year of nursing experience preferred.
• Graduation from a school of professional nursing required.

Responsibilities

• Education - identify learning needs and attend education programs.
• Evaluation of Care - participate in evaluation of patient care.
• Implementation - provide care for patients with complex problems and coordinate with the team.
• Leadership - contribute to unit goals and performance improvement.
• Patient Assessment - assess data to determine care priorities and discharge needs.
• Planning - collaborate with patient/family to update the plan of care.
• Research - review journals and discuss applicable findings.
