The community you’ll be caring for:

Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,368-bed AdventHealth Orlando, serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean, and South America. It houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and cardiac catheterization labs in the country, providing service excellence to over 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients annually.

The role you’ll contribute:

The Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Practitioner functions as a learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for inquiry, advocate for NPD specialty, and partner for practice transitions. They guide learners toward desired outcomes, assess opportunities and challenges within and outside the organization, and identify areas based on healthcare trends, legislative changes, educational gaps, emerging technologies, and staff growth desires. They actively engage with learners to support nursing professional development and ensure measurable outcomes, influencing professional role competence and growth in various settings.

The value you’ll bring to the team:
  • Orientation: Create, plan, implement, and coordinate orientation for new nursing staff; monitor compliance and evaluate the process based on trends and organizational goals.
  • Research/Evidence-Based Practice (EBP)/Quality Improvement (QI): Serve as a resource for clinical inquiry, support research and quality initiatives, and disseminate findings through educational activities.
  • Professional Role Development: Assist staff in their professional growth, practice transitions, and succession planning; promote certification and advanced education.
  • Continuing Nursing Education: Design and coordinate engaging educational activities rooted in adult learning principles, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards for continuing education hours.
Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Two years of nursing experience
  • Current, valid Florida Nursing license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certification
  • Advanced Life Support Provider Certification, per specialty
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
Preferred qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in nursing or related field
  • Experience as a preceptor/educator
  • Teaching experience in formal/informal settings
  • Experience in the specialty applying for
  • Certification as Nursing Professional Development Educator
  • Certification in clinical or educator specialty
  • Basic or advanced life support instructor certification
